The Friends of the Library, Laredo, Texas (FOL) is a support group for the Laredo Public Library.  The membership consists of concerned volunteers who are committed to supporting, promoting, improving and expanding Library Services.  FOL accepts donations and conducts fund-raisers in order to provide financial support for special projects to enhance library service, augment the library’s book collection and elevate the community’s awareness of the educational opportunities available at the Public Library.
FOL was instrumental in the building of the Main Library in 1998 and now has a new task before it.  Two new branches are scheduled to begin construction in 2010.  A new 20,000 square foot building in south Laredo at the corner of Palo Blanco and Zapata Highway; and a new facility in northwest Laredo (part of the Northwest Community Center) at 15201 Cerralvo Drive.

FOL is seeking members to help continue the good work that they have done in the past.
For more information, please call Maria G. Soliz at (956) 795-2400 ext. 2225 or Homero Vazquez-Garcia at (956) 795-2400 ext. 2422.
